NEW YORK, January 27, 2025 (WSH) — A special event will take place in New York on March 13, 2025, from 3 PM to 6 PM, highlighting the critical role women play in the global struggle against climate change, with a particular focus on women from Africa and the Diaspora.
The event is organized by the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN), the Permanent Mission of Senegal to the UN, and the World Madam Foundation, with co-sponsorship from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW).
The session aims to empower women leaders by spotlighting their contributions to climate action and their unique perspectives on tackling environmental challenges.
